In the January 2010 issue of Pizzicato, the magazine of Luxembourg the recently released complete edition of String Quartets in the Bartók New Series was given the Excellentia Award. The works are performed by the Mikrokozmos String Quartet that was established for this specific recording. The members are Gábor Takács-Nagy, Zoltán Tuska, Sándor Papp and Miklós Perényi. The recordings were made under control of the artistic leader of the Bartók New Series, Zoltán Kocsis, with Ibolya Tóth as the musical producer. Hungaroton CDs including some of the Bartók New Series have already been given the Supersonic Award of Pizzicato but this is the first case to receive an Excellentia Award which is given each month to one title only.
